COLLEGE FOOTBALL: Virus wreaking havoc on SEC with Saban now testing positive

The Southeastern Conference had to postpone two games in the last three days because of positive covid-19 tests, and now Alabama coach Nick Saban and his athletic director have tested positive for the virus ahead of the league’s biggest regular-season showdown.

PREP FOOTBALL: Columbia aims to improve offense in matchup vs. Lee

Columbia coach Brian Allen always tells his team he has a ‘24-hour rule.’ Whether you win or lose, you forget about it and move on by Sunday. There’s no more talk about getting shut out by Madison County 12-0. The Tigers (0-3) have moved on to Lee, which will travel to Lake City this Friday.

GIRLS GOLF: Columbia wins first district title since 2014, Suwannee sends 2 to regionals and Branford advances with third-place finish

Columbia’s girls golf team won the District 2-2A title on Tuesday at Quail Heights, its first championship since 2014.  Payton Gainey led the Lady Tigers with an 85, while Ashley Nelson carded an 89 and Reece Chasteen finished with a 90.

GAINESVILLE — No.10 Florida paused all team activities Tuesday following “an increase in positive covid tests among players," putting Saturday's home game against defending national champion LSU in jeopardy.

COMMENTARY: Winless at 0-3, it’s time for a QB at Columbia to step up

It’s been a long time since Columbia started 0-3. Twenty-four years to be exact. And 0-4? That hasn’t happened since 1986. Do the 2020 Tigers want to join that dismal group? Or will somebody step up and get this offense off of the ground?
