FORT WHITE — When you lose 42-0, you can’t move on fast enough. Fort White’s loss to Carrollwood Day last week was one of the worst in recent memory. Head coach Demetric Jackson watched the film with the coaching staff but he didn’t bother going over it with his players.

BRANFORD — The Branford football program’s progress the past three-plus years is easily measured. In 2018, the Buccaneers posted a winning record for the first time since 2010.  That same year, the Bucs snapped a 17-year playoff drought.

LAKE BUENA VISTA — LeBron James finally got an easy Game 1 in the NBA Finals. A very easy one, at that. Anthony Davis scored 34 points, James had 25 points, 13 rebounds and nine assists and the Los Angeles Lakers rolled past the Miami Heat 116-98 on Wednesday night.

One day after Gainesville canceled, Columbia found a new opponent for Friday night. Florida High will travel to Lake City this week to face the Tigers after its game against Gadsden County was also called off.
