PREP FOOTBALL: Columbia falls to Lee again, starts 0-4 for first time since 1986

Once again, Columbia’s offense struggled to score. And once again, Lee proved to be the better team. The Tigers turned the ball over six times while Cale Zarah threw four touchdowns passes for the Generals, who rolled to a 38-21 victory at Tiger Stadium on Friday night.

PREP FOOTBALL: Suwannee shuts out Wakulla, seals win with marathon drive

LIVE OAK — After barely seeing the field in the third quarter, Suwannee’s offense more than made up for it in the fourth. Gaining possession to open the final period Friday at Langford Stadium, the Bulldogs didn’t give Wakulla the ball back until there was just 1:23 remaining.

PREP FOOTBALL: Baldwin beats Fort White for second straight season

FORT WHITE — An aggressive Baldwin defense created problems all night for Fort White’s inexperienced offensive line. Baldwin’s no-huddle offense was also pretty impressive. The result was a fourth straight loss for FWHS in a 40-0 blowout defeat Friday at Arrowhead Stadium.

NFL: Lions-Jaguars could be high-scoring affair with porous D abounds

JACKSONVILLE — Take the over. Detroit and Jacksonville have two of the NFL’s worst defenses, unable to stop anyone, anywhere, any week. The Lions (1-3) rank last in the league in rushing yards allowed, giving up more than 170 yards a game.

NFL: Jaguars could be without WR Chark for 2nd time in 4 games

JACKSONVILLE — The Jacksonville Jaguars could be without Pro Bowl receiver DJ Chark against Detroit on Sunday. Coach Doug Marrone listed Chark as questionable for the game. If he can't go, Chark would be sidelined for the second time in four weeks.

FRIDAY NIGHT PREVIEW: Columbia still searching for first win as rival Lee comes to town

This matchup has been for a district title the last five seasons. This year, it’s a bit different.  There’s no division championship on the line when Lee comes to Lake City to face Columbia. The FHSAA is already sending every team to the playoffs due to the covid-19 pandemic.
