GAINESVILLE — On paper, it looked to be a pretty close matchup. Fort White and PK Yonge had similar scores against common opponents heading into Friday. And it was a close game last year between the two squads.  It didn’t turn out that way though.

ARLINGTON, Texas — Walker Buehler pitched in the World Series like the Los Angeles Dodgers' aces of old. Think Sandy Koufax, Fernando Valenzuela and Orel Hershiser, all leaders of title runs. Now Buehler has the Dodgers two wins from the championship that has eluded them since 1988.

PREP SWIMMING: Columbia qualifies three individuals, two relay teams for regionals

The Florida High School Athletic Association released the regional qualifiers for Region 1-3A on Friday and three individuals from Columbia along with two relay teams are moving on. For the girls, Mackenzie Conklin is the ninth seed in the 500 freestyle (5:26.

BRANFORD — For the first time in a few weeks, the Branford Buccaneers are getting back to normal. After the Bucs had to cancel their Oct. 9 game against Hilliard when a covid-19 case at the school led to a number of players being sent into quarantine, Branford played last week.
