GIRLS GOLF: Columbia wins first district title since 2014, Suwannee sends 2 to regionals and Branford advances with third-place finish

Columbia’s girls golf team won the District 2-2A title on Tuesday at Quail Heights, its first championship since 2014.  Payton Gainey led the Lady Tigers with an 85, while Ashley Nelson carded an 89 and Reece Chasteen finished with a 90.

GAINESVILLE — No.10 Florida paused all team activities Tuesday following “an increase in positive covid tests among players," putting Saturday's home game against defending national champion LSU in jeopardy.

PREP ROUNDUP: Columbia boys golf wins back-to-back district titles, Suwannee advances to regionals

Zach Shaw shot a 71 to take medalist honors, helping lead Columbia to its second consecutive District 2-2A title on Monday at the Country Club of Lake City.  The Tigers finished with a score of 314, edging Mosley (324) and Suwannee (369).
