LIVE OAK — Not even the Power of Christmas can avoid the reach of covid-19. The Suwannee girls weightlifting program’s annual holiday meet will have a smaller feel to it when it lifts off at 4 p.m. today at the SHS gymnasium.

BRANFORD — Ja’rod Cannon had the touch from 3-point range, Chancellor Wilson had a strong all-around game and the Fort White Indians won easily at Branford on Thursday. After a close first quarter, Fort White went on to a convincing 79-43 victory.

GIRLS BASKETBALL: Branford rolls past Fort White

BRANFORD — A big scoring night from Cera McElreath propelled the Branford girls’ basketball team past Fort White on Thursday. McElreath scored 32 points and Branford led from start to finish in a 74-49 victory. “I was proud of our offense,” said BHS coach Carla Suggs.

GAINESVILLE — Florida has postponed its next three men's basketball games while forward Keyontae Johnson continues to show "truly encouraging signs of progress,” athletic director Scott Stricklin said Thursday.
