COMMENTARY: 'Little dogs' found their way in surprising season at Fort White

I’ll admit to something few sports writers do nowadays: I was not expecting to have much fun covering football this season. From our sports editor to our news editor to myself, we all anticipated my covering a losing season with few feel-good stories and many more losses than wins for Fort White.

NFL: Lawrence, Jaguars' offense struggle again in loss at Indy

INDIANAPOLIS — Trevor Lawrence finally got a chance to play for the win. Trailing 23-17 with 2:17 left on Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts, the rookie jogged onto the field, confident he could lead the Jaguars to the winning score and end nearly two years of road futility.

COLLEGE FOOTBALL: Florida rallies to beat Samford in Swamp shootout

GAINESVILLE — Florida coach Dan Mullen celebrated his team's 70-52 victory against lower-division Samford like nothing was wrong. He sang with his team, posed for pictures, shook hands with fans and then made excuses for one of the worst defensive performances in school history.
