Confidence continues to rise at Columbia. With a defense that continues to shut offenses down and an offense that’s pounding opposing defenses into the turf, the Tigers believe they can beat anybody. Even if they have to take a bus ride five hours to do it.

PREP FOOTBALL: Suwannee ready for West Florida in playoff battle of hot teams

LIVE OAK — As a former defensive back, Suwannee head coach Kyler Hall’s message to his defense, secondary in particular, this week has been to relish the opportunity. West Florida brings a high-powered passing attack into Friday’s Region 1-2S semifinal at Langford Stadium for the 7:30 p.m. kickoff.

WOMEN'S COLLEGE CROSS COUNTRY: FGC places 11th at NJCAA championships, 8th in half marathon

Florida Gateway College placed 11th at the NJCAA cross country championships on Saturday at Apalachee Regional Park in Tallahassee. The Timberwolves finished with a score of 381. Lansing CC won the national title with 57. Kyla Desmartin was FGC’s top runner in 43rd (20:49.
