If you ask Chip Garner about his Tigers, he’ll say they haven’t missed the mark much this year. Even with a .500 record entering Tuesday, Columbia has performed up to his expectations. After a dominating 8-0 mercy rule win over Hamilton County Tuesday night, his prejudice is spot-on.

COMMENTARY: A tough ending for Jefferson, who comes up short of state title again

It wasn’t the ending Tyler Jefferson was hoping for. When Jefferson transferred to Columbia in the offseason for his senior year he had one goal — to win a state championship. But that goal fell two games short on Friday.

ANALYSIS: Jaguars in dire need of defensive help, maybe staff changes

JACKSONVILLE — Jacksonville Jaguars coach Doug Pederson may need to consider changes to his defensive staff following the season. Maybe even sooner. The Jaguars (4-8) are well on their way to becoming the NFL’s worst defense, and there doesn’t seem to be an explanation for the sudden decline.
