TALLAHASSEE — All was silent for Skyler Ziegaus’ penalty kick  in the third minute of Wednesday’s District 2-5A finals. Nobody in the crowd talked or yelled during her run to the ball. A pin drop would’ve shattered the thin air.

MAYO — In two previous matches against Bell, Lafayette won each time in decisive fashion. The Hornets did it a third time against the visiting Bulldogs, this time in a 3-0 victory on Wednesday night to capture the District 2-2A title for the second year in a row.

BOYS BASKETBALL — Fort White 62, St. Francis 51: Brandon DeMartino scored 18 points, hitting five 3s, to lead the Indians past the Wolves at home Tuesday night. Tafari Moe and Garrett Brady each hit three 3-pointers, with Moe finishing with 17 points and Brady adding 15.
