GIRLS BASKETBALL — Lafayette 66, Bell 35: Kiley Beach scored 18 points, Kelby Lyons added 17 and Jada Copeland finished with 14 to lead the Hornets (10-2) to a blowout win over the Bulldogs (5-9) at home Tuesday night. Sophia Kendrick also grabbed 12 rebounds to go with six points for LHS.

BOYS BASKETBALL: Columbia survives late Buchholz run, bounces back for resume-building win

Following back-to-back losses and dropping a spot in the Region 1-5A playoff rankings, Columbia needed a big win. The Tigers got one Tuesday night, but it wasn’t easy. Columbia built a 14-point lead in the fourth quarter only to watch Buchholz storm back within two points with 11.4 seconds left.

Zuri Hollie scored 14 with five rebounds and five assists, while Mariah Cox scored 12 points to go with six steals to lead Columbia to a 62-12 blowout win over Santa Fe at home Monday night. Jolena Gardner and Jahlaya Wilson also both recorded double-doubles for the Tigers (8-6).

PREP FOOTBALL: Paulk transfers to Bradford, wishes Columbia 'amazing upcoming season'

Zack Paulk won’t be Columbia’s starting quarterback next season. He’ll suit up for Bradford instead. Paulk announced Friday that he’s transferring to Bradford for his senior season after spending his first three high school seasons in the CHS program.
