ST. PETERSBURG — Lettuce will be on the menu again this year for Florida manatees as part of an effort to slow the starvation deaths of the beloved marine mammals, wildlife officials said Wednesday.

CAPE CANAVERAL  — NASA’s new moon rocket blasted off on its debut flight with three test dummies aboard Wednesday, bringing the U.S. a big step closer to putting astronauts back on the lunar surface for the first time since the end of the Apollo program 50 years ago.

LIVE OAK — A Wellborn man was arrested Monday afternoon after exposing a woman to his interpretation of a joy ride. A Suwannee County Sheriff’s Office report states a woman had just left the Murphy’s gas station near Walmart around 1:10 p.m.

TALLAHASSEE — A Suwannee County law enforcement officer is now a Chief Executive Seminar graduate. Buddy Williams, the chief deputy at the Suwannee County Sheriff’s Office, was one of 19 chief executives to graduate from the Florida Criminal Justice Executive Institute course last week.
