A man from New Hampshire, who authorities say was laying on a railroad track, is dead after he was run-over by a train Tuesday morning. The deceased man was identified by authorities as William Josh Cameron, 28, of Concord, New Hampshire.

COLUMBIA CITY — A teenager riding a bicycle was hit by and killed by a car late Friday night. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a 15-year-old was riding their bike north on SW Walter Avenue around 11:30 p.m. Friday when a sedan approached behind them near SW Cindy Glen.

Plane veers off airport runway

A plane crash Saturday afternoon at the Lake City Gateway Airport led to only minor injuries. A small single-engine plane was attempting to land at the airport just after noon Saturday when it crashed on the north side of the runway, according to the Lake City Police Department.

Lake City’s long search for a city manager appears to be heading into the home stretch. The city has called a special meeting for 5 p.m. Wednesday at City Hall, 205 N. Marion Ave., to discuss the procurement of a city manager.
