A Lake City man just wanted to be home for the holidays. But wanted on a Suwannee County warrant, the man fled from Columbia County deputies on Sunday morning, leading a high speed chase throughout the eastern side of Lake City. Spotted by a deputy running a stop sign at Montrose Avenue and U.S.

Tired of waiting for his breakfast Saturday morning, a Lake City man let his hanger get the best of him. According to the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office, 29-year-old Major Stockton started throwing plats and food around the Waffle House at 2963 W. U.S. Hwy. 90 a little after 7 a.m. Saturday.

A new year and another new interim manager for the City of Lake City. Lake City’s latest interim city manager Mike Williams, tendered his resignation Friday afternoon, indicating Dec. 31 will be his final day in the post.

More than 20 children assaulted the toy aisle at Walmart Wednesday morning, grabbing Nerf guns and other Nerf toys, Legos, dolls, remote control vehicles and other items in their path that would make good Christmas gifts. The children’s accomplices? Lake City Police Department officers.
