PREP SWIMMING: Columbia's Fair wins district title, qualifies for regionals in 2 events

Columbia girls swimmer Casey Fair won the District 2-3A title in the 100 backstroke on Tuesday with a time of 1:05.42, and she also punched her ticket to regionals in the 100 butterfly thanks to a runner-up finish with a time of 1:03.78.

LIVE OAK — The path back to the playoffs is now quite simple for Suwannee: win and the Bulldogs will be in. With three games left in the regular season, Suwannee heads to Atlantic Coast on Friday for a 6:30 p.m. kickoff, controlling its own destiny.

PREP FOOTBALL: Lafayette makes long trip west to face resurgent Franklin County

MAYO — For about a decade, Franklin County has lived up to the nickname of its location: The Forgotten Coast. The Seahawks’ best season in the last 10 years was in 2018 when they went 4-6. Since then, they’ve either gone winless or won one game, including 2023 when they went 0-10.

BOYS GOLF — Columbia 172, Trinity Christian 182: Valin Capen shot a 4-over-40 for medalist honors to lead the Tigers over the Conquerors at the Country Club of Lake City. Aydn Petit was third overall with a 41, while Trenton Kirby was fifth with a 44 and Cooper Willis was sixth with a 47.
