    Branford soccer player Delilah Poore was voted by the readers as the LCR Athlete of the Week for Jan. 6-11.

    Poore received 61 of the 100 votes cast through 4 p.m. Wednesday in our online poll following a week where she combined to score four goals with three assists in a pair of wins over Dixie County (3-0) and Bell (5-0) and a 4-4 tie with Dunnellon. She finished ahead of Columbia soccer player Cody Bass (10), Fort White girls basketball player Isreal Hart (10), Columbia girls basketball player Jolena Gardner (8), Suwannee wrestler Eli Jolicoeur (7) and Columbia boys basketball player Zavian Douglas (4).

    The next poll will be online this weekend. Nominees will be chosen from scores and stats uploaded to MaxPreps, sent in by coaches and from games attended by the LCR's reporters. Coaches can also send in nominees to jkroeger@lakecityreporter.com.
