PREP ROUNDUP: Columbia boys can't rally past Impact Christian Academy

Another rally wasn’t in the cards Saturday night for Columbia’s boys basketball team, which fell to Class 1A No. 3 Impact Christian Academy 57-53 in the Duel in Duval at FSCJ.

Ronald Clark scored 19 points for the Lions (14-4) while Jeremiah Jones had 14 and Frandy Perez had 11. ICA led by nine entering the fourth quarter before holding on after the Tigers (13-8) won the final period 12-7.

Zavian Douglas and Marlin Haywood each had 12 points to lead CHS, while Murkail Cray and Zamarion Jones also finished in double figures with 11 apiece.

BOYS BASKETBALL

— Fort White 53, Union County 46: Jayden Jackson scored 17 points, Tafari Moe added 14 and Kendal Henry finish with eight to lead the Indians past the Tigers at home Saturday night, snapping a six-game losing streak. Gavin Jenkins led the Tigers with 18 points in the loss, which could have ramifications in next week’s FHSAA rankings at UCHS entered the week as the 4-seed in Region 3-R while FWHS was fifth.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

— The Villages Charter 64, Columbia 54: Eriel Baker scored 11 points, Dariyan Williams had 11 and Jolena Gardner added 10, but it wasn’t enough for the Tigers (7-8) against the Class 3A No. 6 Buffalo (16-3) on Saturday evening at Hawthorne High School.
