BOYS BASKETBALL: Columbia carries late first-half run into third quarter to pull away from Baker County

Columbia let Baker County hang around for nearly a half Friday night. But just like two weeks ago, the Tigers eventually ran away with another victory over the Wildcats.

GIRLS WEIGHTLIFTING: Suwannee tops Branford & Fort White for third straight district title, Columbia finishes runner-up in District 4-2A

Suwannee has hit the district trifecta. For the third straight year, the SHS girls weightlifting team won the District 4-1A title in convincing fashion Friday at the SHS gym. The Lady Bulldogs won nine of the 10 weight classes to total 112 points on the way to their latest district title.

GIRLS BASKETBALL: Paxton reaches 1,000 points for her career, records another triple-double in Columbia's win over Countryside Christian

Na’Haviya Paxton needed 10 points to get to 1,000 for her career. She did it in less than two quarters. The junior then recorded her sixth triple-double of the season in less than three. It was another stellar night for Columbia’s point guard — and one that will be remembered forever.

COLLEGE BASKETBALL: FGC enters 2021 with bigger goals following back-to-back Region 8 titles

Two years back and two Region 10 Tournament appearances. Basketball has taken off in its return at Florida Gateway College. It’s raised the expectations, too. The Timberwolves will finally take the floor this Friday after a delayed start to the season due to the covid-19 pandemic.
