COMMENTARY: Meyer should know by now he's not in college anymore

If nothing else, Urban Meyer should know by now that he’s not in college anymore. The fact he didn’t seem to grasp that before his ill-advised hire of controversial strength coach Chris Doyle, though, doesn’t bode well for Meyer’s chances of long-term success in the NFL.

DAYTONA BEACH — Michael McDowell was glued to Brad Keselowski's bumper, watching and waiting for his chance to win the Daytona 500.  Joey Logano was the leader, the laps were winding down and yet no one had the nerve to pull out of traffic.

GIRLS WEIGHTLIFTING: Chasteen places second to lead Columbia at Class 2A state meet

Reece Chasteen placed second in the 183 class at the Class 2A state meet on Saturday at Suwannee High School. Chasteen hit just one of her bench presses and one of her clean and jerk attempts, posting a 205 and a 165 for a 370 total.

NFL: Expected top pick Lawrence throws for Meyer, other teams

CLEMSON, S.C. — Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence worked out for several NFL personnel including his expected future pro coach, Urban Meyer of the Jacksonville Jaguars.  The national championship winner is projected as the No. 1 overall pick in April's NFL draft, the spot held by the Jaguars.
