NFL: Expected top pick Lawrence throws for Meyer, other teams

CLEMSON, S.C. — Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence worked out for several NFL personnel including his expected future pro coach, Urban Meyer of the Jacksonville Jaguars.  The national championship winner is projected as the No. 1 overall pick in April's NFL draft, the spot held by the Jaguars.

GIRLS BASKETBALL: Columbia suffers another first-round exit, falls to Navarre in regional quarterfinals

NAVARRE — Columbia’s season came to a bitter end on Thursday, losing to Navarre 71-42 on the road in the Region 1-6A quarterfinals. The Lady Raiders (18-6) jumped out to a 6-0 lead and never trailed en route to their first playoff win in program history.

PREP ROUNDUP: Columbia splits preseason games in softball

Columbia defeated Santa Fe 8-2 but lost to Williston 6-1 in its preseason games on Thursday at the Hal Brady Rec Center. Anissa Penniman, Emma Edson and Hailey Bowmer all had 2 RBIs in the win over Santa Fe, while Addison Maxwell and Caitlyn O’Sullivan each had an RBI.

COLLEGE FISHING: FGC anglers earn national championship invitation

Going into the final day of competition on the Florida Bass Nation Bassmaster College Series qualifier on Lake Okeechobee, the Florida Gateway College Bass Fishing Team of Seth Slanker and Jackson Swisher trailed the leaders by more than just a few pounds.
