JACKSONVILLE — DJ Chark’s contract season is off to a shaky start. The Jacksonville Jaguars receiver had surgery to repair a broken finger on his right hand, coach Urban Meyer said Sunday, and will miss the remainder of training camp and the preseason.

With more than 30 college offers to his name, Marcus Peterson’s phone was ringing off the hook. Sometimes several times an hour. “Coaches were calling every day, texting and everything,” said Peterson, who says he got around 30 phone calls a day. “It was just crazy.”  Even bothersome.

LIVE OAK — Not even a week of wet practices can douse the Suwannee Bulldogs’ enthusiasm heading into the 2021 season. After practicing in a steady rain Thursday morning for the fourth straight day, SHS coach Kyler Hall saw the benefit to an otherwise dreary week of practice.
