Wife also arrested in child porn case
Jordon Hoffman, Harliegh Hoffman
A Columbia County firefighter faces additional charges after authorities received a search warrant for his cell phone.
Jordon Hoffman, a 33-year-old Lake City man, who was arrested Aug. 25 on child pornography charges following a CyberTip received from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, now faces more than 50 charges, 35 of which involve sexual activities involving animals.
“Every time we recover new evidence, we follow it wherever it leads,” Lake City Police Chief Gerald Butler said in a release. “In this case, it led us to uncover additional crimes and another offender.
“We will continue to hold every person who engages in the exploitation of children accountable.”
Hoffman’s wife, 27-year-old Harliegh Hoffman, was arrested Wednesday on five counts of possession of child pornography and eight counts of unlawful sexual activities involving animals.
Harliegh Hoffman’s arrest and the additional charges on Jordon Hoffman come after LCPD detectives obtained a search warrant for his cell phone after his arrest. A forensic analysis of the phone turned up additional child pornography pictures and videos.
The investigation showed that he had shared some of the photos and videos with his wife.
The original CyberTip was in relation to an image sent on Snapchat of a prepubescent child engaged in sexually explicit conduct. The account that shared the photo was registered to Hoffman.
He had worked as a firefighter with Columbia County Fire Rescue since 2013.
