PREP FOOTBALL: Fort White cancels season opener at Union County due to covid-19 quarantines

FORT WHITE — A 21-0 loss in its Preseason Classic may be the least of Fort White’s problems now. The Indians’ scheduled regular-season opener on Friday against Union County was canceled Wednesday after an unknown number of players entered quarantine protocols.

NFL: Winston TDs highlight Saints' preseason win over Jags

NEW ORLEANS — Jameis Winston picked opportune moments to let it fly in first NFL start since 2019. Winston completed touchdown passes of 43 and 29 yards to second-year pro Marquez Callaway, and the Saints defeated the Jacksonville Jaguars 23-21 in a preseason game on Monday night.

LIVE OAK — Suwannee High coach Kyler Hall got his wish Friday night. Wanting to see the Bulldogs start fast in the Preseason Classic against Hamilton County, Hall’s team raced out to a 28-point lead on just 10 plays in the first quarter on the way to a 38-6 rout at Langford Stadium.

FORT WHITE — The Indians had no response. Middleburg drove the ball down the field at will three consecutive times to open Friday’s Preseason Classic at Arrowhead Stadium, scoring three consecutive touchdowns on three consecutive run-centric drives.

PREP FOOTBALL: Chiefland capitalizes on miscues, powerful run game to rout Branford in Classic

BRANFORD — During 21 of the 24 minutes of Branford High's Preseason Classic on Friday, the host Buccaneers didn't look like they belonged on the same field as visiting Chiefland. The visiting Indians jumped out to a 31-0 lead while eventually outrushing Branford 152-11.
