BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Southeastern Conference teams that don’t have enough available players will have to forfeit games this year. The league released its policy on dealing with covid-19 issues during the 2021-22 seasons in all sports on Monday.

COLLEGE CROSS COUNTRY: FGC opens season with second-place finish at TCC Open

Florida Gateway College opened the season on Saturday with a runner-up finish in the TCC Open XC 5K with 43 points, while Pasco-Hernando State College, which placed sixth last season in the NJCAA DII National XC meet, won the meet with 25 points.

NFL: Jaguars trade QB Gardner Minshew to Eagles for 2022 pick

Minshew Mania is on the move. The Jacksonville Jaguars traded popular backup quarterback Gardner Minshew to Philadelphia on Saturday for a conditional draft pick in 2022. The Jaguars received a sixth-round pick that would become a fifth-rounder if Minshew plays 50% of snaps in three games.
