Ian’s damage to Florida agriculture as high as $1.8B

ORLANDO — Hurricane Ian caused as much as $1.8 billion in damages to Florida agriculture last month, state agriculture officials said. The Category 4 storm caused between $1.1 billion and $1.

Protest ban at Florida university after anti-Sasse rally

GAINESVILLE — The University of Florida is going to start enforcing a decades-old prohibition against indoor protests following a raucous demonstration earlier this month against the selection of U.S. Sen. Ben Sasse as a finalist for the school president’s job.

Gunshots land Suwannee County man in jail

WELLBORN — A Suwannee County man may not have been shooting to kill, but the shots still landed him in jail. According to a Suwannee County Sheriff’s Office report, Dakota James Lemay, 18, got into an argument with a trio of victims about leaving a residence on County Road 137 Monday around 10 a.m.
