LIVE OAK — Suwannee County is now flush with funding for a wastewater treatment plant at its Catalyst Site. Gov. Ron DeSantis awarded $9.6 million toward the project Wednesday from the Rural Infrastructure Fund, which a release from his office said will create 269 jobs.

Coast Guard cutter namesake has LC ties

BOSTON — The Coast Guard’s newest cutter, the Coast Guard Cutter Warren Deyampert (WPC-1151), has a local connection. The cutter, which was commissioned at Coast Guard Base Boston on March 30, was dedicated to Deyampert, whose nephew lives in Lake City and took part in the ceremony.
