NFC graduates 138, including 67 local students

MADISON — North Florida College awarded 138 students — including 67 from Columbia, Suwannee, Lafayette and Hamilton counties — with degrees or certificates at the conclusion of its Spring Term 2023. Graduates were honored at NFC’s Spring 2023 Commencement Ceremony on Saturday at Van H.

Willett, Peterson return to SOSMP

Two familiar faces will be returning to the Spirit of Suwannee Music Park this weekend. Arlyn Willett, a former Nashville artist, opens the weekend on Friday, while Mike Peterson, a former deputy sheriff, takes the stage Saturday.

Suwannee students first to graduate from NFC Sentinel Scholars Academy

LIVE OAK — Seven Suwannee County students made history this month. On May 5, North Florida College celebrates its first graduating class of the Sentinel Scholars Collegiate Academy at the NFC Live Oak Location.

Florida sending troops, officers to Texas

Live Oak eyes retiring fire chief’s replacement

LIVE OAK — For the first time in more than two decades, the City of Live Oak is looking for a new fire chief. Chad Croft is retiring after 36 years with the Live Oak Fire Department, the past 21 as chief, “on or about” June 2, according a retirement letter submitted to the city on April 20.

LIVE OAK — Reviving and carrying on the longtime tradition of hosting some of the most prominent names in American roots music and beyond, the seventh annual Suwannee Roots Revival returns to the Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park on Oct. 5-8.
