State parks plan includes golf, pickleball

TALLAHASSEE --- Future visits to some of Florida’s state parks could include getting in 18 holes of golf or playing pickleball. The state Department of Environmental Protection this week announced what it has dubbed a “Great Outdoors Initiative” aimed at expanding public access to state parks.

Mainstream Band, Snake Blood Remedy return to Music Park

LIVE OAK — A pair of Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park favorites are returning to the Music Hall this weekend. On Friday, the much-loved Snake Blood Remedy Band will take the stage, while the Mainstream Band will rock the house Saturday night.

Live Oak man charged in March murder

A Live Oak man, already in custody for probation violation, has been charged for murdering a woman in March. The Live Oak Police Department announced Sunday morning that Leroy Duval Jr., 60, was being charged with second-degree murder, burglary with battery and child abuse.

LIVE OAK — Significant raises aren’t coming for City of Live Oak employees. One year after the city provided 7% hikes across the board, this year’s city budget outlook is much different according to City Manager Larry Sessions during a budget workshop Monday.
