Missing Suwannee child found safe

LURAVILLE — A two-day search ended with a 12-year-old Suwannee County boy found safe in a thicket of trees Saturday afternoon. Scott Koehn, who walked off from his residence off 168th Street around 5:30 p.m.

Search continues for missing child

LURAVILLE — A multi-agency search continued Friday night for a juvenile that went missing Thursday in western Suwannee County. Despite non-stop search for more than 28 hours, 12-year-old Scott Koehn, had still not been found Friday night.

Miller named new Suwannee fire chief

LIVE OAK — Suwannee County’s new fire chief and public safety director will be new to Suwannee County. Daniel Miller, a former EMS chief for Lake County Fire Rescue, will be the new head of Suwannee County Fire Rescue after being offered the job Tuesday, which he accepted.

Suwannee lands state shelter

LIVE OAK — After withstanding Hurricane Idalia last fall, Suwannee County and the State of Florida are hoping to be better prepared for potential future storms.

MAYO — Lafayette 4-H Cloverbuds enjoyed an exciting week at the 4-H Fundamentals camp, filled with notable guests, educational activities, crafts, and a visit to Two Trails Ranch. The week kicked off with a special appearance by local celebrity Austin Phelps.

Live Oak woman killed after truck overturns

McALPIN — A Live Oak woman was killed Thursday evening when her pickup overturned and caught fire in central Suwannee County. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a 62-year-old Live Oak woman was headed west on County Road 252 around 6:32 p.m.

Justices turn down sports betting challenge

TALLAHASSEE — In a major win for the Seminole Tribe, the U.S. Supreme Court on Monday refused to upend a 30-year, multibillion-dollar deal giving the tribe control of sports betting throughout Florida. The Supreme Court declined to take up a challenge filed by two pari-mutuel companies.
