Fort White man arrested on child porn charges

FORT WHITE — A Fort White man has been arrested after an investigation spanning 11 months found he had child pornography on his home computer. According to a Columbia County Sheriff’s Office report, Peter Kendrick Payor, 65, was arrested Thursday for possession of the digital material.

LIVE OAK — Live Oak and Suwannee County will soon have reason to “eat mor chikin.” Site plans and building plans for a Chick-fil-A along U.S. Highway 129 North have been submitted to the City of Live Oak’s planning and zoning department and undergoing reviews.

Storm resource center open in Mayo

MAYO — Those seeking assistance from Hurricane Debby have a location in Lafayette County to receive that help. The State Emergency Response Team has a Multi-Agency Resource Center set up at the Lafayette County 4-H building next to the Mayo Community Center, 176 SW Community Circle, through Friday.

LIVE OAK — One day after Hurricane Debby passed through North Florida, Suwannee County Commissioners voted to hopefully provide a safe place in future storms.

FGC graduates 188 during summer ceremony

The different seasons of life, ranging from a new college student to a college president to a professional who serves as a college trustee and college graduate, were celebrated Thursday when Florida Gateway College held its Summer 2024 commencement exercise.
