Takeout drinks on tap: DeSantis signs ‘alcohol to-go’ bill into law

A popular covid-19 emergency order is now on tap permanently. Gov. Ron DeSantis signed into law Thursday a bill that allows restaurants to sell alcoholic drinks with take-home meals.

CSD shows appreciation to employees with raffle giveaway

Close to 400 prizes were on display in the Columbia School District Auditorium for most of the week.

Fun for a good cause: Kiwanis uses proceeds from Kids Day to feed children

Local youngsters will have several hours to play in the sand, touch huge trucks, tractors and other machines and even play in bounce houses this weekend. The Kiwanis Kids Day will take place 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Florida Gateway Fairgrounds Rodeo Arena on Bascom Norris Drive.

The shutdown of the Colonial Pipeline won’t cause gas shortages here.  At least not directly, according to state and industry officials. The bigger concern is the effect of panic buying.
