Two people, at least one who is a juvenile, were taken to area hospitals Thursday night with gunshot wounds, but authorities haven’t uncovered much additional information.

City hall is closed until further notice, due to city employees inside the building contracting covid-19. The City of Lake City posted a notice on its website Thursday afternoon, announcing the lobby at city hall was closing, effective today, until further notice.

A Miami man got a little more than he bargained for, even with some expensive items on his mind. Moises Navarro Ibanez, 33, was arrested Monday afternoon after attempting to purchase an expensive lawn mower on someone else’s dime.

Don’t blink or that dream house will be gone. The median time from listing to contract for a single-family home placed on the market in June in Columbia County was 11 days.

Legion makes donation to Sapp for cancer treatment

As the newest crop of American Legion officers took their oaths of duty Tuesday evening, one row of seats at the front of the bingo hall remained reserved for one particular group. They weren’t getting an award or being sworn in or even affiliated with the American Legion Post 57 in any way.

A budding entrepreneur, one glass of lemonade at a time

A local child beat the hot and humid days of summer with some cold cash through a lemonade stand. Ja’Marion West, 10, set up his lemonade stand on Brown Road last month and managed to get several donations from the community after it was promoted by his neighbor on social media.
