NFL: Fournette now a free agent after going unclaimed on waivers

JACKSONVILLE — Running back Leonard Fournette is now a free agent. Fournette went unclaimed after Jacksonville waived him Monday. Fournette's representatives responded by formally filing a grievance against the Jaguars in an effort to recoup the $4.

COMMENTARY: Jags might be worst franchise in all of pro sports

You’ve got to hand it to the Jacksonville Jaguars. Just when you think they can’t go any lower, the Jags somehow manage to find a whole new level of teal-colored ineptitude. They really could be the worst franchise in all of professional sports.

COLLEGE FOOTBALL: Blackman named FSU's starting quarterback

Florida State coach Mike Norvell named James Blackman his starting quarterback to open the season. Blackman got the nod Tuesday after beating out Louisville transfer Jordan Travis and freshman Tate Rodemaker during fall camp.

JACKSONVILLE — Disgruntled pass-rusher Yannick Ngakoue is headed north, far away from Jacksonville. A person familiar with the trade says the Jaguars agreed to send Ngakoue to the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday for a second-round draft pick in 2021 and a conditional fifth-rounder in 2022.
