Columbia swingman Charleston Ponds verbally committed to Davis & Elkins on Tuesday. Ponds made his announcement in a quick Twitter post. Davis & Elkins is a Division II school in Elkins, West Virginia, that competes in the Mountain East Conference.

NFL: Owners approve 17-game regular season, 3 preseason games

The NFL is increasing the regular season to 17 games and planning to have full stadiums for those games.  While reducing the preseason to three games the league will be able to generate additional revenue, of course.

LIVE OAK — Not really interested in the sport, Timothy Jolicoeur expected his wrestling career at Suwannee Middle School to be short. Pushed by his father, Jay, to consider wrestling, Jolicoeur agreed after speaking with the coach to give it a try, but he still had serious reservations.
