NFL: Jags, LT Robinson agree to 3-year, $54M extension

JACKSONVILLE — The Jacksonville Jaguars essentially ruled out taking a left tackle with the top pick in the NFL draft by agreeing to terms with veteran Cam Robinson on a three-year extension Wednesday.

PREP SPORTS: FHSAA releases new rankings to seed next week’s baseball, softball district tournaments

There were no surprises at the top of the latest FHSAA rankings released on Tuesday, with Columbia still ranked first in Region 1-5A and Suwannee still No. 1 in Region 1-4A. That means both teams will be the No. 1 seeds in their respective districts for next week’s tournaments.

INDIANAPOLIS — NCAA President Mark Emmert is stepping down after 12 tumultuous years leading an association that has become increasingly marginalized while college sports has undergone massive changes and been besieged by political and legal attacks.

PREP SPORTS: FHSAA approves but won’t require shot clock, OKs new playoff seeding

The shot clock is coming to high school basketball. Well, sort of. The FHSAA board of directors voted 15-1 on Monday to adopt a 35-second shot clock for both boys and girls basketball with a catch — it’s optional, not required. The option goes into effect for the 2022-23 and 2023-24 seasons.
