PREP FLAG FOOTBALL: Florida A&M ends Suwannee’s season in 1-1A quarterfinals

LIVE OAK — The Suwannee flag football team’s magical postseason run came to a sobering end, but heads were still held high despite the tears shed. In the Bulldogs’ first appearance in the state playoffs, the newly-crowned district champions fought gamely to overcome a disastrous start.

NFL: Jaguars address D in draft, get little help for Lawrence

JACKSONVILLE — Trevor Lawrence doesn’t appear to have a true No. 1 receiver in Jacksonville. Maybe it’s Christian Kirk. Maybe it’s Marvin Jones. More likely it’s someone still in college. The Jaguars ended up doing little, if anything, to upgrade Lawrence’s receiving corps in the NFL draft.

PREP FLAG FOOTBALL: Suwannee knocks off Florida High for first district title in program history

TALLAHASSEE – Revenge, indeed, is sweet. Even without your seniors. Three weeks ago, Suwannee appeared to be the victim of a mismatch against Florida High when the Seminoles put the home team away with 23 unanswered points in a 23-6 thrashing of the Bulldogs.

NFL: Jags draft Walker with top pick, trade up for Lloyd

JACKSONVILLE — Travon Walker “had a good feeling” he might be the top pick in the NFL draft when he visited Jacksonville earlier this month. He was way ahead of just about everyone else — maybe even the Jaguars.
