Columbia feels it has a pretty good football team this season. That notion will be tested right out of the gate in tonight’s opener against 2021 state semifinalist Buchholz.

BRANFORD — There was a time not too far in the past when Branford would have been thrilled with a .500 season. Not so much anymore. Head coach Tim Clark, whose Buccaneers are coming off a 5-5 mark in 2022, would like to believe the bar has been set a little higher going into this season.
