BOYS GOLF: Ruemenapp leaves hoops for Columbia, replaces Hagler as new coach

Dave Ruemenapp is lucky if he squeezes his resume into one page. It runs deep, full of coaching experience in both basketball and golf. Columbia just happened to have an opening in the latter and he jumped at the opportunity.

COLLEGE FOOTBALL: Clemson voted preseason ACC favorite, FSU picked 5th in Atlantic Division

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Clemson is favored to return to the top of the Atlantic Coast Conference this season. The Tigers were the preseason pick to win the league for the seventh time in eight seasons, according to voting results released Tuesday following last week’s ACC media days.

NFL: Jags open camp with police escort to high school

JACKSONVILLE — Doug Pederson opened his first training camp in Jacksonville with a police escort. The first-year Jaguars coach and 91 players loaded onto a five-bus caravan for a 5-mile ride from TIAA Bank Field to a nearby high school for their first practice Monday.
