PREP FOOTBALL: Fort White adds Taylor County for fifth home game in 2022

FORT WHITE — Another day, another scheduling tweak for the Fort White football team. For the second time this week, the Indians 2022 schedule got adjusted Thursday when Taylor County agreed to “flip venues” with the Indians, giving Fort White five home dates at Arrowhead Stadium.

PREP FOOTBALL: Fort White quickly fixes scheduling mishap

A minor scheduling mishap that could’ve turned a program into panic mode was quickly averted. When Fort White released its 2022 football schedule back in March, the Indians’ Week 9 opponent, Crystal River, was slated to come to Arrowhead Stadium on Oct. 21 for the Indians’ homecoming weekend.

PREP FOOTBALL: WR Frier transfers from Suwannee to CHS

Back from a down period around the 4th of July, the Columbia High football team has added an explosive piece to its offense. On Monday, Camdon Frier’s transfer to CHS from Suwannee High became official and the 4-star junior wide receiver participated in workouts with the Tigers on Tuesday morning.

MAYO — Athletes and coaches usually like to say that games aren’t played “on paper.”  Interestingly, if they were played “on paper,” Lafayette would be a juggernaut this coming fall. After all, confidence is high coming off an 8-4 campaign in the fall of 2021.

COLLEGE FOOTBALL: Florida paying $1M to each of Billy Napier's 3 coordinators

GAINESVILLE — Florida is paying each of coach Billy Napier's three coordinators $1 million annually. Offense coordinator Rob Sale and co-defensive coordinators Sean Spencer and Patrick Toney will make seven-figure salaries, according to contracts the Gators shared Friday.
