Columbia head coach Demetric Jackson made it clear after Thursday’s loss to Buchholz that Tyler Jefferson is his starting quarterback. He also made it clear that backup Evan Umstead will continue to get some reps. Both players saw the field in the Tigers 31-14 defeat at the hands of the Bobcats.

JACKSONVILLE — Receiver Laviska Shenault, a second-round draft pick in 2020, is getting a fresh start in Carolina. The Jacksonville Jaguars traded Shenault to the Panthers on Monday for an undisclosed draft pick in 2023.
