FORT WHITE — There’s a new standard surrounding Fort White’s football team. Gone are the days of “good enough” or “getting by.” Not that these were ever the official or unofficial mottos of the team. But now the burden of greatness, according to many on the team, is here.

FOOTBALL PREVIEW: Branford hopes for bounce-back season, build upon Clark’s new standard

BRANFORD — There was a time not too far in the past when Branford would have been thrilled with a .500 season. Not so much anymore. Head coach Tim Clark, whose Buccaneers are coming off a 5-5 mark in 2022, would like to believe the bar has been set a little higher going into this season.

Here are Tuesday's results for volleyball. — Gainesville 3, Columbia 0: The Tigers (0-1) were swept by the Hurricanes (1-0) on the road Tuesday night (25-14, 25-18, 25-19). — Branford 3, Hamilton County 0: The Buccaneers (2-0) swept the Trojans (0-1) on the road Tuesday night (25-7, 25-14, 25-15).

PREP FOOTBALL: QB Tyler Jefferson had an up-and-down Columbia debut

One thing was clear after last week’s Preseason Classic. Columbia’s offense is still a work in progress. With lots of new faces in purple & gold, the Tigers had their ups and downs even in a 14-10 victory over Suwannee.
