BOYS BASKETBALL: 3 turnovers in final minute allow Gainesville to rally past Columbia

You can trace the loss back to three possessions in the last minute. Columbia turned the ball over three times in the final 60 seconds, surrendering the lead to Gainesville late before watching a half-court heave nearly bank in only to roll off the rim at the buzzer.

GIRLS SOCCER: CHS coach Chip recovering from hospitalization with supportive squad

There are no cheerleaders on the sidelines during Columbia soccer matches. Or at least it would seem that way. For the last six years, the Tigers’ head coach Chip Garner has been the only cheer section his team has seemingly needed.
