Columbia’s wrestling team placed fourth at the Tiger Duals on Saturday, with Clay taking home the title. Undefeated individuals for the Tigers included Jayden Thomas in the 138 class and Alex Ulloa in the 145 class. Head coach Pete Whittington also picked up his 100th dual win.

BOYS BASKETBALL: Reserves step up in balanced win for Columbia over Santa Fe

One of the biggest keys entering the season for Columbia was finding some more help to take the offensive load off of Isaac Broxey. The Tigers found plenty of it on Friday. All head coach Steve Faulkner had to do was look down his bench.

BOYS SOCCER: Brinson scores 2 goals late to lift Columbia past Eastside

For 71 minutes, it seemed that Columbia couldn’t string together passes, much less maintain possession of the ball inside Eastside territory. Then AJ Brinson decided he’d had enough.

COLLEGE SOFTBALL: FGC's recruiting class up to 17 players

Florida Gateway College currently has 17 players added to the roster of its newly revived softball, which will begin competing in the fall of 2023. Softball is returning after a 15-year hiatus at FGC, which hired former Columbia High coach Jimmy Williams to lead the program.

LAS VEGAS — No. 14 Oregon State rolls into the Las Vegas Bowl off a victory over rival Oregon, with six wins in seven games and the chance to make school history. Only two Beavers teams have reached double-digit wins, the first time in 2000 when Jonathan Smith was the quarterback.

GIRLS BASKETBALL — Oakleaf 94, Columbia 37: The Tigers (5-7) lost their fourth straight Thursday, falling to the Knights (9-1) on the road. Kaylah Turner scored 27 points for OHS, which also got 19 points from Trista Brown and 18 from Fantasia James.

BRANFORD — Fort White head coach Elven Sheppard believes his Indians are in good hands with field general Najeeb Smith. “As he goes, we go,” Sheppard said. “He’s a big part of our program. We look for a lot from him.
