GIRLS SOCCER — Branford 2, Bell 0: Savannah Creech scored two goals while goalkeepers Zoe Nahabetian and Daniela Alvarez combined to make five saves to lead the Buccaneers (2-10) to a shutout victory over the Bulldogs (2-10) at home Thursday night.

LIVE OAK — It was a night of firsts for Suwannee on Thursday. The Bulldogs won their first district duals championship when they swept through the District 2-1A tournament Thursday in their home gym. It also marked Suwannee’s first dual win against Wakulla since 2010.

Just 10 seconds into the new year, Columbia found itself in a hole. Five minutes later, that hole seemed more like a tiger pit. That’ll happen when playing a regional powerhouse. The Tigers (6-4) fell to visiting Buchholz Tuesday night as the Bobcats (4-8) scored early and often in their 4-1 win.
