PREP FOOTBALL: Cooper signs with Warner, Young with Carthage to add to CHS class

Columbia running back/receiver Jaylen Cooper and receiver Keeven Young signed letters of intent on Monday to play collegiately. Cooper is headed to Warner, an NAIA school in Lake Wales, FL, while Young will play at Carthage, a Division III school in Kenosha, WI.

BOYS BASKETBALL: CHS to host Pine Forest in playoff opener, FWHS left out

A district title propelled Columbia up the Region 1-5A rankings, just not as high as hoped. The FHSAA revealed the playoff brackets on Sunday and the Tigers (18-9) were awarded the No. 3 seed, earning them a home matchup with No. 6 seed Pine Forest (15-11) on Thursday at 7 p.m.

BOYS BASKETBALL: Columbia routs Rickards for first district title since 2020

Two years without a district title was too many for Columbia head coach Steve Faulkner. He made that clear to the Tigers before they took the floor for Friday’s District 2-5A championship. And after one quarter, it was clear they listened.
