COMMENTARY: Season isn’t over, but Columbia now faces a must-win

Not much is going Columbia’s way this season, and it got even worse on Friday. Quarterback Zack Paulk suffered a hairline fracture in his throwing shoulder, sidelining him for at least two weeks. That means freshman Xavier Collins will have to lead the Tigers out of their winless hole.

PREP FOOTBALL: Paulk out with shoulder injury, freshman Collins to start at QB for Columbia

Winless at 0-4, Columbia now faces even more adversity. Starting quarterback Zack Paulk says he is expected to be out two to three weeks with a hairline fracture in his right shoulder, which he suffered during Friday’s 27-13 loss to Trinity Christian.

Four top-10 finishes, led by Morgan Mobley in third place, propelled the Suwannee boys to victory at the Suwannee County Invitational on Saturday. Mobley ran a time of 17:11.29 ahead of teammates Paul Gunter in fifth (17:29.04), Issac Starling in seventh (17:31.44) and Brig Scott in ninth (17:32.
