BOYS GOLF — Columbia 179, Gainesville 204: Trenton Kirby and Valin Capen were co-medalists with a pair of 44s to lead the Tigers over the Hurricanes at The Country Club of Lake City. Cooper Willis added a 45 and Adyn Petit finished with a 46 to round out the scoring for CHS.

The Columbia Tigers didn’t catch many breaks in Friday’s loss to Madison County, but they did get one this weekend. After suffering what was feared to be a serious injury in that 18-13 defeat, further tests this weekend showed that linebacker Chris Jordan only suffered a high-ankle sprain.

BOYS GOLF — Oak Hall 164, Columbia 170: Adyn Petit shot a 37 but the Tigers dropped their match to the Eagles at The Country Club of Lake City. Also scoring for CHS were Valin Capen with a 41, Cooper Willis with a 43 and Trenton Kirby with a 49.

LIVE OAK — One month into her junior year, Suwannee golfer Ryan Donaldson has already aced one major test. While taking an official visit to the University of Oklahoma this past weekend, Donaldson committed to the Sooners as part of their 2026 recruiting class.

Missed opportunities were the theme of Columbia’s night Friday. The Tigers failed to convert two fourth downs on Madison County’s side of the 50, another near midfield, and also turned the ball over twice — once in the red zone and another inside their own 20 that led to a Cowboys’ touchdown.
