Council interested in ‘clean’ up of Live Oak

LIVE OAK — The Live Oak City Council wants to “clean this town up.” After a discussion at its regular meeting Tuesday night, the council agreed to set a workshop for May 24 to further discuss the code enforcement process and how it could be used to rid the city of blighted areas.

Letter carriers look to ’Stamp Out Hunger’

The mail service will pick up more than outgoing letters this weekend. The National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC) will conduct its 30th annual national food drive on Saturday. The nationwide food drive has helped collect about 1.82 billion pounds of food over the last three decades.

FBI: LO man threatened to kill feds

LIVE OAK — Music will resonate on the banks of the Suwannee River again this week. The Resonate Music and Arts Festival returns to the Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park from Thursday through Sunday for its second edition.

FBI makes downtown LO bust

LIVE OAK — A quiet Monday afternoon at the office was gone in a flash in downtown Live Oak on Monday. Literally. In a matter of moments Monday afternoon, a team of agents from the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Jacksonville office swarmed Pine Avenue SW near the government offices.
