JACKSONVILLE — A Georgia man and woman have been sentenced in U.S. District Court after a 2019 traffic stop in Columbia County resulted in their arrests. According to a Department of Justice release, Anthony Jermaine Robinson (31) and Kiana Kina Alphonse (29), both of Covington, Ga.

Discount grocer Aldi said Wednesday it plans to buy 400 Winn-Dixie and Harveys supermarkets in the southern U.S. Under a proposed merger agreement, Aldi will acquire all outstanding shares of Jacksonville, Florida-based Southeastern Grocers Inc., the parent company of Winn-Dixie and Harveys.

LIVE OAK — Eight months after a Wellborn woman disappeared, her boyfriend is behind bars for her murder. The Suwannee County Sheriff’s Office arrested Jordan Gregory Ernsberger on Tuesday on second-degree homicide charges in the December 2022 death of Deborah Lanham.
