Lafayette’s Lyons named Advisor of the Year

ORLANDO — Lafayette FFA Advisor Chad Lyons now has an additional title: Florida FFA Timothy H. Cribbs FFA Advisor of the Year. During the 95th Florida FFA State Convention at the Caribe Royale from June 19-23, Lyons was bestowed the state recognition.

Georgia woman shoots husband, arrested

Richardson seeks funding for director

Money matters took center stage during Columbia County’s Board of County Commissioners meeting Thursday. A few days after speaking to the Lake City Council, Richardson Community Center Board Treasurer Tammy Magstadt gave the commission updates on the summer programs it had been funding.

Retailers look for lift from tax ‘holiday’

TALLAHASSEE — Florida retailers hope for a boost to summer sales with the start Monday of a back-to-school sales tax “holiday.” The tax holiday, which will last through Aug. 6, will allow shoppers to avoid paying sales taxes on clothes, shoes, school supplies and personal computers.

Clover Buds learn about 4-H, animals during summer camp
