Missing man found dead in wooded area

Two days after he was reported missing, a Columbia County man was found dead.
Dylan Sweat, 26, left his home on NW Ethelind Court around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, according to the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office.

Library hosting youth art contest

Local youngsters who have a penchant for creating artwork will have an opportunity to showcase their skills in the inaugural Columbia County Public Library 2020 Youth Art Contest.
The contest is open to youngsters 10-18 years old who are amateur artists. There is no fee to enter the competition.

A pair of incumbents retained their seats on the County Commission, while a third is headed to a runoff for his seat. Incumbents also won re-election to the Lake City Council and the Columbia County School Board.
